Second full day in Maine…

Before getting into how we spent our day I want to mention that the featured image was taken by my sister, Chris on her phone…one of the best pictures from the trip!  Thank you Chris!

We had a pretty busy day yesterday and still I was surprised that I slept in this morning…it was after 10:00 AM when I woke up.  A quick cup of coffee…I need to share…that cup…it holds at least 3 regular cups of coffee and still room for milk/half & half…one big yummy cup of coffee…a little of this and a little of that and we were out the door.  We did walk to Perkins Cove this time…found a little short cut through a parking lot that took us over the footbridge…saved a lot of steps!  Speaking of steps…Fitbit said I walked 1.8-2+ miles per day.  I think Fitbit lies…it certainly felt like way more than that!

I mentioned this in the previous blog but just in case…mentioning it again…I did call Finestkind and the plan was to go out but we needed to stop by and verify about an hour before our trip was due to go out. We had about 3 hours to walk around and enjoy the town before going back to verify…fog was fairly heavy off and on all day.  Oh…and each day started out in the 70’s but it was high 80’s by the end of the afternoon and very humid.  Except at the condo…there, especially the interior, was nice and cool because of the set up with trees and rocks. Keep in mind…this is a fishing village…there are a lot of boats, rowboats and dories.  There are a lot of pictures but…we are walking around town in the virtual world…talk among yourselves but you don’t need me breaking it up with chatter!  🙂

The dragonfly picture was taken later in the day on the boat going out to Nubble.  It came out of nowhere and my sister pointed it out.  It was nice of the dragonfly to hang around for a bit.  All the really cool birdhouses were on the Harbormaster’s building.  Enjoy the walk around the village!

It was time to go check in with Finestkind…and of course we went out.  We went and sat on the bench to wait until it was time to board.  It was not foggy when we headed out but as we got closer to Nubble, it did get foggier and once there it was not foggy on one side but it was by the time we went around the back. Right below is my sister & I socially distanced and relaxing with our masks on on the ride out to Nubble.  There were only a handful of people…I think 7 of us plus the Captain and Lillian, the crew.  Masks were not necessary once we set out since everyone was more than 6′ apart but sometimes we had them on anyway…better safe than sorry!

Arriving at the lighthouse…

This cruise heads out at various times a day but we went out on the 4:00 cruise.  They last about 90 minutes so it was dinner time when we got back.  We decided to check out Jackie’s Too for dinner and surprisingly we were seated almost immediately because we were willing to sit inside…in a room that was opened on both sides to open air.  Dinner was amazing, service was fantastic, our waitress had a great sense of humor, there was no one sitting within 6-10′ of us…a good dinner!  I broke my diet and had broiled scallops, shrimp and french fries…so good!…and I believe my sister had baked stuffed shrimp.  Sad that only a week has gone by since we were there and my mind is a blank…but I guess if I am going to lose a memory then the memory of her dinner is minor!  🙂 Oh…and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the beautiful ocean view.

I forgot I took pictures of the food…my memory appears to be correct that she had Baked Stuffed Shrimp…:-)

So, this ends another gorgeous, busy day in paradise.  Another busy day is coming up tomorrow because I went on line last night and booked a morning sail (the only thing they were offering that was not booked already since they only take 6 people out…ever!) on Silverlining.  Be sure to come back for day 3!

You know the routine by now….come visit me at my page on Facebook, on Instagram and at my website.  If you find something you like on my blog and you don’t find it for sale, please contact me.  I will be updating my Loving Life site removing a lot of what is for sale now and putting some new items up for sale, concentrating on note cards, magnets and prints.
