I decided to take you to Kauai, HI…

I took several small trips to Maine, Gloucester/Rockport and Vermont between the time I came home from Utah/Arizona and when I left for Kauai but I decided to save the small trips for now.  I still can not find my Curacao pictures but I also can’t remember if I went there in September 2016 or September 2017…it was 10 days after I had a heart attack but I don’t have anything to say when that was and my memory fails to help me out.  I do know whichever year it was I had quit smoking the previous month…and have had not smoked since then.

So, Kauai…my favorite of all the Hawaiian Islands and I have visited 6 of the 8 major islands.  My husband and I went there for our honeymoon way back when with a stop in San Francisco for a few days on the way there and Las Vegas on the way back.  Then we stayed in O’ahu and Maui with day trips to 3 other smaller islands.  The next time we went I took my husband to Kauai for his 40th birthday.  It was my favorite island when we were there before and I wanted to explore more of it.  The last time we went together we went to the big island of Hawaii…not my favorite…too crowded and we went in October and it snowed at one of the locations we were supposed to visit…the location was closed and the visit canceled because it was deemed too dangerous.  Who knew?!

You should not be surprised but images start with what the ground looks like from the sky…the folder with pictures when I took off from Logan are missing as are the ones from LAX to HI…I have what appears to be maybe the Colorado area to LA…in one of them you see the LA skyline and the infamous Hollywood sign off in the distance!

As soon as I arrived in Kauai, got my rental car and settled into my room it was nearing sunset…it had been a very long day but I managed to gather enough strength to open the slider and stop out on the balcony with my camera.  Step to the right side of the balcony …and get a little bit of the sunset while listening to the waves crash on the beach!

I am going to leave things here for now.  Tomorrow on the island is a very busy day and I have to be at the front of the hotel for an early pick-up…I am going on a land-river-air tour of the island.  Though I will tell you now the river portion had to be canceled because we ran late with the air portion of things…missed the boat by just minutes!  We were given vouchers to do it again before we left.  Be sure to come back because the land-air parts…kick butt!

You know the routine by now….come visit me at my page on Facebook, on Instagram and at my website.  If you find something you like on my blog and you don’t find it for sale, please contact me.  I will give you a quote.

See you on the road!

Trust me, it’s paradise. This is where the hungry come to feed. For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven’t tried before. So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It’s probably worth it. – Richard, ‘The Beach’ (Alex Garland)
