Welcome to a brand new day…lots of exploring to do now that my oil change is completed (it’s November 1 in blog world). One of the places I passed through in my travels was the quaint town of Marquette…I had been to Marquette MI before and this is not Michigan! This is rural Kansas but I headed here for a particular reason and drove all around town and just enjoyed the town. I have no recollection of what drew me to the town but I loved it….the murals, the buildings, the woman I spoke to in Piper’s…all warm and wonderful.
Another town I passed through was Wilson, KS…I came here to see the world’s largest Czech Egg…a huge and beautiful egg! Also, a quaint town.
The rest of my day was driving around and visiting churches. I do have a fascination with churches though I was unable to go into any of these churches I did go check them out. One was noted as the Prairie View Church and Cemetery but I never noted what town it was in and I have never been able to find it on the internet. I was still there and have pictures so I am posting. I also saw Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Walker, KS, Saint Wencelaus Catholic Church in Wilson, KS, and last but not least, The Cathedral of the Plains – Saint Fidelis Church in Victoria, KS. All beautiful churches.
One last post before I end…when I got back to the hotel I had to park around back because of the fair going on. I walked into the back of the hotel and out the front to walk across the street to have a sandwich and drink for dinner at Radina’s Coffeehouse & Roastery. While walking in the parking lot out back something over my shoulder caught my attention and I looked back to see a truck with a sign for Pumpkin Spice Oil changes being back…no one offered me a Pumpkin Spice Oil change but then again, I didn’t go to Express Lube!! That would smell good driving down the road! And my chicken salad on a croissant from Radina’s…so delicious!!!
