My plan today was to head back toward Glacier NP and if I happened to see something going there or coming back to the hotel I would stop and check it out. I knew some of the roads in Glacier were already closed so I wasn’t sure how much I was going to be able to see. I discovered within a short period of time that “Going-to-the-Sun Road” was out of the question. Using navigation silly me thought since it wasn’t accessible with one road I would be able to get there by way of another road. But alas it was not meant to be. 😦
It is a big area with plenty to explore so I pretty much wandered the park to find out what I would be able to see.
I saw Mc Donald Creek and Lake Mc Donald…
Middle Fork Flathead River…
Whitefish Lake State Park…
I went to check out a dam with a waterfall but the important part of the road that would allow me to get pictures of this spot was closed…with a gate, not a chain. I will occasionally go over a chain blocking the road but I have to draw a line at climbing a gate!
Tomorrow morning I will be moving on…heading west on a slow crawl toward Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Be sure to come back for the ride!
