I am apologizing in advance for all of the animal images I am going to be posting here but animals are awesome and I can not pick and choose what gets posted and what gets left out…I just can’t! If I have 20 photos of a lion I won’t post all 20 pictures but otherwise be prepared.
It took me a little bit to find the proper entrance to the zoo because the address on the website took me to a gate for employees and deliveries…the gentleman at the gate redirected me to the front gate. Entering the zoo is even fun…sets you up for what is to come.
If you are going to come here you have to plan for at least a half day to see everything…I was here about 6 hours and didn’t see everything because my hip gave out but I saw so much! I love lions, tigers, jaguars…you know, large cats but I also have a fascinations for giraffes. They amuse me…they are always sticking out their tongues. 🙂 So I am going to start with the giraffes…though the day at the zoo started with the penguins…
Now on to the rest of the things I love at the zoo…
The African Spoonbill…such a unique bird!
There were a variety of birds, some roaming free and some in chicken wire type fences.
The shaggy camel…
The mighty lion…
The mighty leopard enjoying an early lunch…look at that tail!
The gorgeous tiger...
Flamingos…
And all the other amazing animals…
The rest of the images to be posted relate to walking around the zoo and the carousel they have...
After a fun day at the zoo I had a lovely pizza at Brown’s Social House and took a down day.
The morning I leave Chestermere I will be checking out another place or two in Calgary and then heading down toward Montana…the Canadian Rockies are just as beautiful and majestic as the American Rockies!
