Thelma & Louise take a CT road trip…

My bestie and I made plans to head to CT for a week.  She is a beach person…she will even occasionally go in the water.  We did a little research before deciding where to go and decided on an area that had beaches all around it.  She had researched 3 areas she wanted to consider…the CT beach area, the Jersey Shore and the MD shore.  I went through each to price out our best option for a hotel.  Drive time and money meant CT was going to win. Off we headed to Stratford…have you ever driven through CT?  It is the longest state to get through and I don’t even think it is that big…it just seems to go on and on…I think because it is almost all stop & go highway. Our chosen hotel was the Homewood Suites which allowed us to have a living area separate from the bedroom.  We also had a mini kitchen in case we decided to cook…we didn’t but having a full size refrigerator. The rooms had some funky pictures of flowers with water drops…I took pictures of parts of the pictures.  The hotel also had a social hour where you could get a beverage (water, beer or wine) for free and when we returned home from dinner they were showing a movie…I can’t remember the name of it but the one that had come out in 2018 with Melissa McCarthy.  It was funny as are most of her movies in my opinion.

After settling into our room we checked TripAdvisor to find out what we wanted to go for dinner and settled on The Ole Dog Tavern.  It was very busy but after a very short wait we were seated.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and had a glass of wine out on the deck and went inside to watch the movie…almost like being at home but someone else will clean up after you!

Tomorrow we will be checking out several beaches in the area so be sure to come back!
