May 17, 2018
We are still on May 8th 2018 and in Montour Falls…I had 4 waterfalls on my list of things to do in town…2 of them were at the same location but that park was closed for another week and I know I am not going to be heading home in the same direction I came…just too much country to see on this trip! I had one more fall I wanted to find and as hard as I looked I could not find it…everything said it was right on the main road but if you blinked you might miss it. I guess I was blinking too much because I couldn’t see it. I decided to head for a late lunch before moving on to Rochester. I headed SE out of town and there was Aunt Sarah’s Falls! A tiny waterfall on the side of the road with a little parking area…I turned the car around and headed back…it really was small, especially compared to Montour Falls but a waterfall is a waterfall!
Now I am at peace and can move on toward Rochester…through beautiful farm country and the Finger Lakes wine country!
And…we end this day with a general overview of the trip from home to Rochester and a few things that caught my interest. The guy in the rest area that truly was resting…he was hitting golf balls off into the woods when I drove in…resting and relaxing! I stopped for gas and was shocked when I saw gas for $8.75 a gallon…I guess it is race car fuel but WHAT?!
That ends the day…moving into Canada tomorrow and passing on to Port Huron MI. I need to end my post for now because it is time to pack up, leave this hotel and move on with my day…see what I can see before I check into my home away from home for the next two nights. Thanks for traveling with me.
